Housing Rehab Program

New Development Corporation (NDC) rehabilitates houses in the Belknap, Creston and Stocking neighborhoods in order to provide families with opportunities for affordable homeownership. NDC purchases and rehabilitates houses that have become vacant or deteriorated. NDC homes will have the electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems updated, remodeled kitchens and bathrooms, new or updated drywall, siding, roof and windows, and all lead and asbestos hazards removed.

NDC then sells the home to a qualified buyer who falls within the required income limits. Income limits vary by home, please see the Homes for Sale page for specific details.

NDC works with the homebuyer to qualify for up to $5,000 in down payment assistance from the City of Grand Rapids as well as find a mortgage product from a local lender that is most appropriate for them.
